what it is...

What is shadowworx?

Shadowworx is a website, a web portfolio... a showcase of the varied artistic pursuits of David M. Littlefield.

Who is David M. Littlefield?

David is a comic book artist, illustrator... and story teller. Based in Los Angeles, California he draws story boards, creates and developes character and concept designs for start up studios and upcoming personal projects using traditional and digital tools.

Fascinated with comic books and animation at an early age, David initially traced the images out of his favorite comics, eventually moving on to drawing them. David went on to attend the Duke Ellington, School of the Arts in Washington, DC, where he received fine art training in drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. After years of taking art and design courses at the University of the District of Columbia, David transfered to the School of Visual Arts in New York City, completing his Bachelor's Degree in Cartooning and Illustration. David has also taken graphic design and production courses at the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland as well as a variety of continuing education courses at SVA, covering a broad range of subjects from Computer Art to Animation.

Although much of David's experience is concentrated in graphic and web design, he has contributed production work and consultation to several start up studios, including Big Head Scientist and two now aborted comic companies. David continues to develop his own creations for future graphic novels and animated projects.
